About Us

The King William is being reopened by the community after local residents came together in 2025 to explore the opportunity of running the pub under a Community Lease. Following public meetings with the brewery Palmers of Bridport, and detailed planning, strong local support confirmed that the pub could once again become a valued local asset.

A volunteer Management Committee was then formed, bringing together skills from across the Polden Hills to lead the project. Their vision is to reopen The King William as both a successful community pub and a welcoming community hub for everyone to enjoy.

With growing volunteer support and strong local backing, the Catcott Community Benefit Hub Limited was formed and registered, and work is now underway towards a planned reopening in summer 2026.

As local residents we share the strong sense of community, and already have the support of the majority of households.

The Catcott Community Benefit Hub Limited is a not-for-profit organisation, Registration no: 9705. A Community Benefit Society, trading as The King William Inn, Catcott, Somerset.

We are aligned with local and national planning guidelines.
